Bursting with flavour, free from preservatives and additives, old fashioned recipes or contemporary versions with a modern twist – jams, jellies and honeys – preserves and chutneys bought from the small artisan producer invariably have that special factor that makes it all worth while buying local Scottish products. With such an abundance of first class soft fruits Scotland’s jam makers and preserves producers continue to win awards with their tasty creations. Recent additions such as Scottish Chilli jellies are heating up our taste buds. Local Scottish honey producers also score high on the food awards with a wide range of different honeys each defined by the local flora.
Allanhill Farm is only 1.5 km from the historic University town of St Andrews. Owned and run by John Mitchell, the farm has been in the family since 1952. Originally a dairy farm, there is now no livestock on the farm, the main focus being on cereals and soft fruit. The first crop of strawberries was planted here in 1995. We offer pick-your-own and ready-picked fruit for sale, along with other local seasonal farm produce in the shop.
